What are Hedgies made of?
Hedgies are made from a carefully balanced and extremely
durable, special self adhesive hook & loop material, also
known as Velcro. It’s strength is balanced to give the
optimal ratio between the grip and ease of unmounting of
the devices. Hedgies were properly tested and they are
able to safely hold a much havier objects than 10” tablet
computers. Same goes for the adhesive. Manufacturer of
the material specified, that hooks and the loops are
durable for a couple of thousand of times, so Hedgies
should suffice for a few years before showing the possible
signs of wear.
How to prepare the surface?
Make sure the surface is smooth, clean, dry, and free of
oils. Clean selected surface before applying the Hedgie to
it. Use a cleaning product that will not leave an oily or
filmy residue. It's best to use a clean cloth and rubbing
alcohol and allow surface to dry completely. Beware that
citrus based cleaners will damage the adhesive.
How does this work?
When the opposite faces of the Hedgie are pressed
together, thousands of tiny hooks catch in countless of the
loops and creates a strong bond between them. When the
device is being detached, it forces those flexible hooks to
straighten and release the loops, without any damage due
to the quality of the material.
How to detach the tablet?
Put your fingers behind the tablet and pull it towards
yourself and the opposing edge of the tablet. This creates
the leverage and makes the detachment as easy as pie.
Some users explained, that they also use a twist motion to
detach it, so it is really up to you. However pulling it back
directly is not recommended.
Where can I use it?
Hedgies have a really strong adhesive and they can be
used on a variety of different, relatively smooth surfaces
from walls, tiles, wood, glass, plastic, metal, regardless of
the angle of the surface.
The most common use of the Hedgies are in the
office walls, kitchen and toilet tiles, bedroom wall,
above the selected power socket for charging,
recreation room, glass wall, caravan, camper,
sailboat, yacht, children rooms and tables,
workshops, shops, walls for smart home or
automated home controling, as a drop prevention on
the table for kids or people with autism... etc. Also
some rather awkward ideas, like ceiling of a bunk
bed... You really are limited only with your
The use on the fabrics on the other hand, is not
recomended by the manufacturer of the adhesive. Hedgies
may also not be used on hot surfaces like radiator or
inside of a car, exposed to the heat of the sun as the
adhesive might melt. In any case, make sure that selected
surface is smooth, clean, dry, and free of oils.
How to remove the Hedgie?
You can remove the Hedgie attached to the surface by
pulling its edge with one hand, while holding the object
that Hedgie is attached to, with the other hand. Beware
that adhesive is really strong. If your plaster or paint is of
a poor quality, some paint might pell off the wall upon
removing. To avoid that, heat the adhesive on the Hedgie
a bit with a blow dryer and slowly peal it off. The best
method to remove any of the remaining adhesive is to use
a citrus based adhesive remover or pure lemon juice.
Follow the same procedure if you decide to remove the
Hedgie from your device.
